Form A habit Privacy Policy
Form A habit (named TimeScale inside the app; “the app”, “we”, “us”) is a 100% local, no-account iOS time-management and habit-building app. We care deeply about your privacy. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
In one sentence: your habits, goals, and time records stay on your device by default; the app collects no personal information such as your name, email, or location; we collect only anonymous usage statistics and crash diagnostics to improve the app.
1. What We Do Not Collect
- The app has no account system — no sign-up, no login. We neither ask for nor collect your name, email, or phone number.
- We do not collect your precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, health data, or any identifier used to track you.
- The habits, goals, time records, and notes you create in the app are never uploaded to our servers.
2. Your In-App Data (Stored Locally)
- Your habits, goals, time categories, timer records, and check-ins are stored on your device (inside the app sandbox) using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- If you choose to enable iCloud backup, this data syncs to your own iCloud account for cross-device backup and restore. This is handled by Apple iCloud, does not pass through our servers, and we cannot access your iCloud content.
- You can delete this data at any time from inside the app (see Section 5).
3. Analytics & Diagnostics (Anonymous, Aggregated)
To understand which features are useful and to fix crashes, the app uses two Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous feature-usage statistics (for example, how often a screen is opened or a feature is used).
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and diagnostic information (such as crash stack traces, device model, and OS version) to locate and fix problems.
This data is anonymous and aggregated, is not used to identify you, is not linked to you, and is not used to track you across apps or websites. The app integrates no advertising networks and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). This matches the app’s “App Privacy” label on the App Store: only Usage Data (Product Interaction) and Diagnostics (Crash Data), neither linked to your identity nor used for tracking.
4. Permissions
- Notifications (optional): used only to deliver the habit and goal reminders you set. You can turn them off in system settings at any time.
- iCloud (optional): used only when you enable it, to back up your own app data.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Your in-app data lives on your device and is entirely under your control.
- Go to App → Settings → Data management → Clear all data and confirm to permanently delete every habit, goal, and time record on your device (this cannot be undone). The app has no cloud account, so clearing local data deletes all of your app data.
- If you previously enabled iCloud backup, you can remove that backup from your system iCloud settings.
- The anonymous analytics and crash data collected by Firebase is handled under Google Firebase’s default retention policy; because it is anonymous and not linked to you, it cannot be targeted for deletion for a specific individual.
6. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children (in fact, the app collects no personal information from any user).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through an app update or on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised.
